Even in well-structured companies, data lives across different systems: ERP, CRM, manufacturing, e-commerce and marketing platforms. In most cases each technology choice is sound. The issue is not the tools themselves, but how hard it is to connect them end to end. Often these systems do not fully talk to one another.
